I was painting part of the roof of the “Ninnaji” temple in Kyoto. They are doing some renovations on the ceiling and the people can collaborate with the reconstruction buying roof tiles “KAWARA” and writing some messages on it that will last for centuries. This temple is considered one of the most important Buddhist temples in Japan and UNESCO world heritage. Moreover Ninnaji is known for hosting the important figure of the Buddhist monk Kobo – Daishi poet and great master of Japanese calligraphy at 774-835 .
